Personalized Receipt Emails

I'll put in my vote to have the Contribution page's Thank You and Receipting section's "Receipt Message" text run through the token replacement system (with access to profile of contributor).   I understand how other parts of the email receipt that contain transaction info & custom field info need to be spit out via smarty templates.   But enabling the introductory text of receipts to be personalized would standardize their behavior alongside the CiviCRM message templating system and would especially benefit membership renewal / signup where we have obtained user's name or existing profile info for example.

I tried to send a "Personal Message" too you but that form errors out on "Type in the name of the project this forum belongs to.: _________", no matter what I enter there.  CiviCRM sysop, seems like this should be an optional field for personal messages?

Well unfortunately the association closed down that I was customizing the receipt emails for, so I can't easily go back to see what I came up wth there.  Perhaps now CiviCRM has something better for customizing workflow messages and receipting etc.  Sorry I can't be of more help.
