Why do Disabled Events still show in event dropdown for backend reg'n
November 29, 2010, 01:03:06 pm
Hi - if an event is disabled it still shows in the dropdown on a New Event Registration at the backend. Is there a good logic to this? We don't have 'disabled' fields showing at backend. thanks

Disabled events should not be shown in create mode, but it can shown in update mode.

hi kurund - on Demo - i set Fundraising to be disabled http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/event/manage&reset=1

then went to a contact to create a new Participant record http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/contact/view/participant?reset=1&action=add&cid=102&context=participant

and the Fundraising event shows

so seems to be there on Create too.

Looks like this partially fixed in 3.3

http://sandbox.civicrm.org/civicrm/event/manage&reset=1
http://sandbox.civicrm.org/civicrm/participant/add?reset=1&action=add&context=standalone

okay - why would that only be a 'partial' fix - am i missing some nuance - and if this is in 3.3 is it still sensible for us to come up with a patch, or ask if it can be backported?

It was fix as part of another issue / cleanup. Code has changed a lot so backported won't be straight forward. We will have to re-fix it for this and will be part of 3.3.0 release.
