Dave Moreton (Circle Interactive) has created a nice marketing overview document for CiviCRM, and Alejandro Salgado has translated it into a Spanish version. We'd like to get some other translators on board to translate it to French, German, etc. (and potentially localize by adding / replacing "organizations using CiviCRM" with organizations in their countries).

The current documents are attached to: http://civicrm.org/content/spreadtheword

You can potentially translate from the "UK English" version: http://civicrm.org/sites/civicrm.org/files/CiviCRM.ppt

If you can help, post back here so we know you're working on a version. Once you've completed it, you can send the document to me (dave at civicrm dot org) and I'll post it on the "Spread the Word" page.

Hi Dave!

I have started on a swedish translation and have some questions
On slide four: Track all payments and export to accounts - What do you mean with "export to accounts"?
On last slide: Standards compliant HTML - Do you mean that CiviCRM is written according to HTML standards like W3C?

Hi Gastrit

Most of the text in this came from the pdf on that page, which is based on a previous pdf...
so "export to accounts" definitely means export to some kind of accounting software package which of course is possible through a csv file
I'm pretty sure "standards compliant" refers to w3c and while I note that an event page on civicrm.org does generate a handful of errors in the w3c validator this is due to parts of the links and two minor html problems that are are possibly the result of the theme rather than civicrm. (If you run civi in a standard theme like Garland/Bartik on Drupal, it pretty much validates. I can't comment on Joomla! installs.)

Please feel free to adapt this as you see fit though to what will be most relevant and important to a Swedish audience.

Hi,

Is the file to translate the "CiviCRM PDF v4.indd" in the zip file "CiviCRM PDF v4 Folder.zip" ?

Do you want us to send the strings only? I am not sure how to edit InDesign files, especially under Linux (i.e. if it can be imported to Scribus using SVG?)

Thanks,
Mathieu (bgm on IRC)
