Don't make me think, CiviCase (usability improvement)

A usability improvement for CiviCase...

There is a button which allows you to switch between 'my cases with upcoming activities' and 'all cases with upcoming activities'.

My good friend Michael Lenahan and I agree that this should be a drop down because (like Michael says) a button that changes its function when you click it is bad UI and shouldn't be a button.

I think that is a good principle (not sure how many other places in the UI this is the case)

I'll cheekily suggest it as a topic for the code sprints.

If you want to go all Krugy on us, might be even better to have a radio than a select (if they are only two options)

Rationale: you directly see the other option without having to click

  • CiviCRM version: Always the latest!
  • CMS version: Drupal 6 mostly, still evaluating 7.
  • MySQL version: Mix of 5.0 / 5.1 / 5.5
  • PHP version: 5.3, usually on Windows

Relatedly I'd suggest that the choice be remembered, and not keep defaulting back to My Cases. Alternatively, since only people with higher permission can see this button anyway, that it default to All Cases for those people. But would want some feedback from others before changing that.
