Fixed Period Rollover days
April 13, 2012, 02:03:48 am
We have annual memberships, starting 1st Jan with a rollover period set for about October. Following upgrade to 4.1, memberships that were getting renewed only seemed to be getting updated to October, rather than for a year. Moving the rollover date changes where memberships are being renewed to so (when I moved it to February) people paid and got their membership merely updated to "Recently Expired". Clearly changing the rollover period should only change which year they get renewed to, not which date.

Is this is a known issue? I had thought that I saw something about it being fixed in 4.1.1, but I'm still experiencing it. Thanks.

Ed

I was able to recreate the problem on the CiviCRM demo site

I added a fixed term membership type called 'Fixed'
Duration: 1 year
Period Type: Fixed
Fixed Period Start Date: Jan 01
Fixed Period Roll Over Date: Sept 30

I then added a contribution page called 'test contribute'

Purchased membership for test user.
Results:
Member Since: May 27, 2012 (as expected)
Start Date: Jan 01, 2012 (as expected
End Date: Dec 31, 2012 (as expected)

Purchased a renewal
Results:
Member Since: May 27, 2012 (as expected)
Start Date: Jan 01, 2012 (as expected
End Date: Sept 30, 2013 (expected Dec 31, 2013)

We 'll investigate and get back on this.
