Support (offered by community volunteers) > Using CiviMail
{action.forward}
(1/1)
Owen:
Afternoon Civillians,
I'm in the process of the slow migration to Civimail. I'm using {mailing.viewUrl} to create an online version which is all fine and dandy.
However I'm also using {action.forward} to create a "forward to a friend" link, this is fine from the inbox but the link is preserved in the online version, when clicked from there it throws an error on the landing page as it's missing the parameters 'jid' and 'qid'
Is there something I can add to links to pull this information or is there some kind of tag like <exclude from web version> </>
Cheers,
Owen.
Donald Lobo:
so the viewURL does not have a valid jid/qid and hence the error. A couple of options:
1. Fix the landing script so it throws a better error message
2. Eliminate that token from the viewURL renderer.
Would be great if you can submit a patch for either option

Owen:
Will see what we can do after D7 upgrade and Drupal commerce integration, will have to kick to the long grass for now and remove "forward to a friend"

Hi!
I have a similar problem.
If I want to do the #2 option (2. Eliminate that token from the viewURL renderer. ), what should I do? I am new to Civi/Drupal.
Thanks!
Donald Lobo:
Might want to start off by reading: http://book.civicrm.org/developer/
and then making modifications to the needed files
