Extensions Documentation

(1/1)

Dave Greenberg:
Starting with the 4.2 release, the Extensions functionality is taking a big step forward with the addition of the Civix packaging tool and the implementation of a full-fledged Extensions Directory on CiviCRM.org. Native CiviCRM extensions as well as Drupal, Joomla or Wordpress-specific modules and extensions can be posted on the directory.

Updated documentation for creating and sharing extensions can be found on the wiki.

kasiawaka:
We are getting questions from different folks wondering how to get engaged in this project. Since we are trying to wrap this as soon as possible to have it tested, at this point only CMS-native extensions are working and related releases. If you want to help, and you know about projects that should be added to the Extensions directory, please:
1. Go to http://civicrm.org/extensions and click on "Submit an Extension". You need to be logged in for it to work.
2. Create Extensions for CMS-native extensions, ie. Drupal. Wordpress or Joomla at this point. We are changing/updating CiviCRM-native extensions and the work there may be lost.
3. Create Extension Releases for this Extension. Extension Releases are like modules version in Drupal, one Extension Release per one version of the module.

We will update this thread when CiviCRM-native extensions can be added.

To report bugs on adding extensions, please add post here: http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,25591.0.html
