Drupal account does not reflect change made in CiviCRM

This issue was reported in 2011 and apparently fixed in version 4.1.0. I am running Drupal 6 with CiviCRM  version 4.2.6 and this error is reoccurring.

worked for me just now on a 4.2.8

went to user/edit
modified my email and entered my password
change was accepted
civi record that was connected to it shows new email address

I have narrowed the issue down as follows:
  • If you change the email address in the Drupal Account it changes in both Drupal and CiviCRM
  • If you change the email address in CiviCRM using the inline edit function it does not change the email address in the Drupal Account
  • If you change the email address in CiviCRM using the full edit function (e.g. Click Edit at the top of the Contact screen) and then change the email address the email address is then changed in the Drupal Account
So it appears that the problem is only apparent when using the 'in line' edit function for the email address.

Good sleuthing Martin.

I would suggest this needs to go in to JIRA and can hopefully be fixed for 4.3

Actually we probably need someone to test on a 4.3 install - hmm let me think .....

confirming this seems to be wrong on 4.3 beta 4

using the 'in screen' editing function for email is not updating the related drupal user email.

shall i flag an issue?
