Tracking attendance quickly and searching on attendance
(1/1)
herbertmiller:
Is there any way to quickly and easily track attendance for events? For instance, I would like to track the worship attendance at my church's weekly worship. I need to be able to quickly enter the attendance of 150 people (most of whom would already be in the civi databse.. I would then want to be able to find info such as "find individuals who haven't attended for 4 weeks, or within a certain date range. I welcome any suggestions.
Donald Lobo:
1. I do not think that CiviEvent is the best way of recording attendance for a frequently happening periodic event (like schools, weekly church worship). However, that is also your best option with the CiviCRM framework, unless you want to create and write a custom component.
2. If the contacts are already in the database, then you can maintain attendance in Excel and import them in to CiviEvent. You will need to first ensure that all contacts are in the DB before importing attendance data
3. You can use the custom search facility to find folks who have not attended any event in the past n weeks or a given date range. You'll need a fair bit of knowledge of sql and php to do so. There are examples on the wiki
