Assigning certain users to view participant lists.
January 15, 2015, 02:09:45 am
We use CiviEvents to organise a large number of conferences throughout the year for a charity.
Because of privacy concerns, our previous Tech-officer set Civi up so that only the volunteer managing the event could see the participants registered for that event. Admins can see the participants for any event. Unfortunately he has now left and didn't show me how to manage this setting. I have volunteers asking me to fix things so they can view the people signed up to their event.

I can just change the permissions so that they can see everyone who has registered for any event but if anyone knows which settings I need to change to make it work like it did before, that would be awesome :)

If you haven't already, you should read the Permissions and Access control chapter in the User and Admin guide  http://book.civicrm.org/user/current/initial-set-up/permissions-and-access-control/

Then look at Administer > Users and Permissions > Permissions (Access control)  to see if you can find evidence of how this has been done previously.

It might also help to look at your drupal roles as I think at one stage we were doing that sort of thing through those.
