50%-80% bounce rate with civimail & civismtp. Ugh.

We're a nonprofit group with a mailing of about 20,000 names. Earlier this year, we moved our website over to Drupal 6 and CiviCRM 3.1 with the thinking that we'd be able to send targeted emails out to our list with ease using civimail. Prior to this, we had been using MailerMailer.com, a service like MailChimp and had bounce rates of about 2%. The first time we tried sending out our monthly newsletter with civimail using our own mail server we had a bounce rate of 80%. Last week, we signed up for civismtp and tried that and had a bounce rate of 52%. Can someone help me diagnose and solve this problem? Our newsletter and mailing list are how we reach out to people and it doesn't work for us to only be reaching half of our community. Thanks. Roger

for some reason we sent out two mailings today. It started out OK, and now everything is bouncing. Can someone help? I can do the save and test function with no problem, but I never receive the e-mail.
