Problem searching null values

Hi:
I'm trying to search for null values in a date field and it doesn't work.
I tested this in sandbox:

Search builder
Include individuals where last name = Adams AND Birth date IS NULL.

It yields seven records, ALL with filled birth date field.

Looks like a bug, filed http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-3458 for tracking purpose.

Hi:
The problem is still present with custom fields for dates. I'm usinge 2.1 beta 4, and I also verified it with the online demo site.
With string custom fields works fine.
