Member Status Calculations at Import

I have reproduced this issue on my own sandbox. I was unable to test this on the demo as the member status rules reset to default within minutes.

I have the following member status rules defined.

I have assigned external id's to each contact that match unique serial numbers in my existing database.  On my 2.1b4 sandbox in Joomla 1.5.7 I attempted to import the attached test file to create 5 memberships.  The import mapings with examples were

field 1	External ID	1418
field 2	Membership Type	Baptized Member
field 3	Source	Confirmation
field 4	Member Since	06/01/1969
field 5	Member Status	Communicant
field 6	Member Start Date	01/01/2008

The import failed.  The error information was that the member status indicated did not match the rules (Good Standing).  But Good Standing is marked "Admin" so should be excluded from calculation and "Communicant" is the default!

Is this a bug or do I not understand how to set up member status rules?

Just downloaded and tested this in 2.1b6.

The good news is the CiviMember no longer throws an error but completes the import.

The bad news is that even though the status in all five import records is "Communicant" the memberships are recorded as "Good Standing" which is marked "Admin Only"

Summary: It no longer refuses to import, it just miscalculates.  I'll see if I can reopen the issue.

We have fixed this issue and I have updated http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org. If possible can you retest and let us know if there are any issues.
