Joomla 1.5.6
CiviCRM 2.1.1
MySQL 5.0.51a
PHP 5.2.6
SSL active

Event Registration:
http://www.npbam.org/index.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/event/register&id=1&reset=1

Everything seems to be setup correctly, but when I click to actually process a credit card I get the following message:

Payment Processor Error Message
:7: Failed to connect to 64.94.118.33: Operation not permitted

Authorize's URL to process credit cards is listed as: https://secure.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

funny...just did that and all that came up with that error was my post! Wow...Google's fast sometimes.

also...I've followed the wiki for Authorize AIM setup here: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Authorize.net+Configuration

any suggestions?

Thanks.

This search:

site: authorize.net 'Operation not permitted'

... turned up some interesting results. Possibly cPanel related error? Might want to check w/ your hosting provider. Other than that, not sure - Authorize.net is community contributed / supported code and I haven't seen that error before.

Can anyone tell me who the foremost authority on authorize.net/CiviEvent would be? Anyone know who contributed the Authorize AIM part? Anyone think they can fix this for pay?? I really need to get this fixed....

Thanks all.

you might want to contact web access from http://civicrm.org/professional/. they should be able to fix and upgrade the code for a fee.

If I connect using Netscape to this url I get the message below.

https://www.npbam.org/index.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/event/info&id=1&reset=1

Secure Connection Failed

www.npbam.org uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.

(Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

   * This could be a problem with the server's configuration, or it could be someone trying to impersonate the server.

    * If you have connected to this server successfully in the past, the error may be temporary, and you can try again later.

I originally thought the problem might be your certificate but googling leaves me less certain.

OK, I think you do have a certificate config issue & that the intermediary certs may not be installed

This means that your https link is not viewable through Firefox and it may or may not be the cause of Authorize.net working.

Some links
https://vc10.eukhost.com/~lionblad/lionblade/ - a site with the same keychain that is accessable through Firefox. Note the cert details authority chain compared to yours

http://www.nabble.com/Problem-with-GF-and-SSL%3A-IE-accepts-certificate-but-Firefox-doesn%27t-td14586042.html#a14586042 - similar symptoms (although the java bits are red herrings) plus explains dif betw IE & Firefox with regards to this issue. Same CA

https://support.comodo.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=printable&kbarticleid=933 - from your CA site - instructions regarding installing intermediary cert. Not sure if this is exactly right but it does seem to have the cert files.

Appreciate your help on this Eileen. STILL working on this problem. I have the my SSL Cert looking EXACTLY like the one from the UK that you mentioned (screenshot attached), and I'm still getting the same error:

Payment Processor Error message
: 7:Failed to connect to 64.94.118.33: Operation not permitted

I get this in all browsers. BTW...that IP is for secure.authorize.net

You mentioned before that you might be interested in tackling this problem for pay. Still interested? Or anyone?

Thanks.

The folks who contributed the Authorize.net code are from Ideal Solution. You might contact them directly and see if they're interested in working on this with you:

HI there,

The problem Tommy had was related to the ISP not permitting his account through their firewall. It was solved by talking to his provider.
