Joomla! Day UK 2009

Hi CiviCRM UK users

Just a note to let you know that the Joomla! Day UK 2009 event takes place over the 13th and 14th March 2009.

I have been talking with Dave Greenwood and am hopeful that we will have a presence from the CiviCRM project at the event.

Please check out the Web site http://joomladay.org.uk

This is an entirely NFP event and we have so far managed to keep ticket costs to a maximum of £45 per day.

Check out the speakers that have signed up so far: http://joomladay.org.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=58:speakers&catid=35:speakers&Itemid=17

Check out the topics that will be covered in different groups and formats over the two days: http://joomladay.org.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=81:likely-topics&catid=52:topics&Itemid=65

There is a lot happening and plenty of opportunity to meet some of the great and good from Joomla! as well as many of your peers from around the UK, Europe, and even further afield.

I look forward to seeing you there,

Andy Wallace

Hi Andy,

Sounds like an interesting event.  I see you have some NFP/NGO stuff on the drawing board.  Is any day preferable for the NFP interests?

I'm much more at home with Drupal and so wouldn't be much help with Joomla specific issues unfortunatley, but would be happy to talk about CiviCRM.

And I'll find out if any other UK CiviCRM-Joomla! people are planning to attend.

Cheers,
Michael

I've posted a notice to the blog which might grab a few more eyeballs.
http://civicrm.org/node/488

As I noted there, if we get a decent amount of interest we might be able to fly over someone from the core team to help lead a session and maybe also participate in a user group meetup / training day.

Michael - I think your familiarity w/ CiviCRM and the functionality your developing would be of interest to folks regardless of the CMS they're using. If you're able to commit to a session up front that would probably help get things rolling :-)

Not sure why you are asking that question in response to this thread :) but http://en.flossmanuals.net/civicrm/ and civicrm.org should give you a good idea.
