best practice setup - multiple users/single "member"
October 16, 2007, 01:01:19 pm
Hi folks,

We are setting up a CiviCRM for an association and need to meet the following requirements - any advice on the best way to accomplish this is appreciated!

1. Members are all organizations

2. Each member organization has 3 individual members, a primary contact and 2 "delegates"

3. All 3 of a member org's contacts will have the ability to login and access a member's area, and update their own profile info. The content access control will be handled by Drupal. I'm not sure how far along the OG/Civi integration is, or whether that will be applicable.

4. Only the primary contact will be able to manage/edit the other user's info.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

I dont think civicrm can handle the below use case by default (in a easy manner). However we are just wrapping up a consulting project with similar requirements. You can check the specs here:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRM/Kabissa+-+CiviCRM+Project+Specifications

The code is available under the AGPL license (http://svn.quest.civicrm.org/kabissa/trunk/). We think its a work in progress and will require a fair amount of modification to:

1. generalize it
2. adapt it to your use case

Would be great if you can help take this further by funding the next phase(s) of this project. Our consulting agreement and rates are on the wiki

Lobo, myself or my associate Teddy will contact you today or this weekend directly about this and some other custom requirements we have.
