CiviMail WYSIWYG in CiviCRM 1.9 beta - changing absolute to relative URLs?

Hi. I am running 1.9 Beta with Drupal 5.1, and have had sucess with sending a group of 90 contacts. But, Images in emails are not displaying. It seems that the url is being mangled, turned from a absolute URL (with domain) in the html while composing the email using the new WYSIWYG compose area to an absolute one (../../example.gif)

The code that is being written as this in the HTML:

http://www.example.org/files/u2/image.gif

get's changed to this in the WYSIWYG HTML compose area:

Code: [Select]

../../../../../../../../../files/u2/image.gif
and finally arrives in the email as:

Code: [Select]

http://../files/u2/image.gif
in the mailing. One possible solution at the moment would be to not use the WYSIWYG - perhaps html composed outside the editor would not be changed.

I haven't used the issue tracker yet, so perhaps this would be something to put into that system, if you all think this looks like a bug in 1.9.

We are using dojo editor in compose mode and this looks like a bug in dojo. We will upgrade dojo to 0.9 in CiviCRM v2.0. Hopefully it will be fixed.

A follow-up on this issue:

I have found that when I have a link or an image to a subdomain or to an outside site, it works fine. It's just URLs that link to paths that include the domain that civicrm lives on - no go.

So I've made a subdomain to put images to pull from, and it works fine.

This seems to apply to headers and footers as well.

I hope this helps anyone who might be having this problem..

The above ideas is okay but this really is a bummer.
I will see what I can do but just wondering.

I am facing this issue as well right now with 1.9 - is there a patch for me to fix it? It's a fairly major issue and causing frustration amongst recipients.

I think this is a dojo specific issue. You might want check with dojo guys for a patch. Currently we are using dojo 1.0 in CiviCRM v2.0 and it does not have any "Image" option.

For us this is a fairly major issue and effectively breaks the civimail system... is it really this hard to fix or is it not just a configuration issue on my end?

As far as I'm concerned there's no point in using civimail if we can't track opens etc and that only works with the HTML version of the email. If we can't provide links to pages on our own website it is useless to us.

Is there a way to bypass dojo and just work in HTML?

You will have manually remove editor from  CRM/Mailing/Form/Upload.php and templates/CRM/Mailing/Form/Upload.tpl .

You can also just compose the html offline and upload the html and text using the "upload file" feature. i.e. this bypasses dojo editor completely

Dojo can be replaced w/FCKEditor in 1.9 and 2.0.  It's not working 100% yet, but it's close.
