Getting dropped out to joomla login panel when accessing different components?
September 04, 2010, 05:57:26 am
I haven't identified a repeatable pattern, but I am frequently dropped out to the Joomla login screen when accessing different CiviCRM components, and it's not the server timeout that's doing it. I can be editing an e-mail, click next, and it drops me out to Joomla login. Same thing with editing events. It doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen frequently enough to make it an issue, and I am getting ready to deploy where I have other users accessing backend as well, and I can already hear the calls coming. Suggestions?

Joomla 1.15.18 and CiviCRM 3.1.5

you're likely accessing the joomla admin via a different url from what's configured in civi
for example, your civi settings  may have: www.yourdomain.com
and you're logging into joomla with: yourdomain.com

the session treats those urls as different, and stores variables accordingly. what's happening is that you login under one form, and then because civi has the values stored in its settings, it's bumping you to the alternate form, which causes the joomla session to be lost
