Accessing CiviCRM from Subdomain
October 17, 2010, 07:05:13 pm
I've been searching for an answer on the web and trolling the forums....

I have a 3.0.4 installation of CiviCRM on www.<domain>.com  I also have a subdomain of events.<domain>.com.   I am using JMS Multisites.

I can access CiviCRM from both domain and subdomain installations of Joomla, however, whenever I try display the events registration in the events subdomain, it kicks it back to the master domain site (undesired effect).  I've haven't tried this, but I thought of adding some domain detection to the civicrm.settings.php files (admin components and components directories), however, I know that there is a LONG string in the civicrm_domain table that has path and domain information... is this ONLY for backend purposes?  Would I be okay doing this and ignoring the civicrm_domain table?

Thanks in advance...

Hi,
Did you ever get any resolution to this issue? I am having a similar effect when trying to use civicrm in Joomla multisites. I am being kicked out to the main domain even when I try to run a search in contacts.

Thanks
Steve Jacobs

Steve,

I don't think CiviCRM supports access to civicrm instance from multiple domains.
