Confirmation email has a pdf attachment
January 10, 2011, 03:00:13 pm
Hey all, I never noticed this before, but the confirmation email for an event registration is now coming with a pdf attachment named "civicrm.pdf" - the pdf looks similar to the confirmation email, though the text is all off (form is overriding the header text).

How can I either fix the pdf version or disable the sending of this pdf attachment in the email?  I'd like to keep it if I can fix the layout of the text, but I'm just as happy not sending it as well.
Thanks.

I remember that certain options were left out as a future todo since there was nowhere to physically put those options. Might be something related. I'll take a look later tonight.

Maybe the template has changed. Yes the inner table seems misplaced for events.
The template is at civicrm/admin/messageTemplates/add&action=update&id=19&reset=1 if you want to take a look.

I too like the idea, however it would be nice to be able to disable this as it is causing problems on my site.  For some reason when I register for an event online after it processes the payment, the PDF pops up as a response from the webserver, and the page never moves past the confirmation screen (and the submit button still says "processing...").

Any ideas on this?

To follow up, the PDF that pops up with the registration contains the following at the top of the first page:

xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

which makes me think there is possibly some garbage HTML output somewhere causing this issue?

I'm seeing the same badly constructed PDF being sent with event booking confirmations in 3.3.1.
I would be very happy simply to disable this PDf feature altogether for the moment. Any advice on how to do that?

You can take out this line in CRM/Event/BAO/Event.php

'PDFFilename' => 'civicrm.pdf',

(line #1117 or thereabouts)

But if anybody has time to take a look at what has changed in the html that would be great.

just flagging that I am noticing this for the first time - so presume the upgrade brought it to life - definitely needs to be configurable IMO

Easiest might be to munge the title as the filename
