More Flexible "More Actions - Print"

The "More Actions - Print" is a great feature that I use a lot and could be even better.

Any of the following would help.

(1) Be able to pick the fields that a presented on the report.
(2) Have an option (or standard) to indicate the number of records included.
(3) If we can pick fields, it would be nice to specify order across the page and save as a template.
(4) A basic title would be quite helpful (Print does not have a title)
(5) Ability to print the query specifications on a following page
(6) Ability to print to a PDF
(7) sigh ... I suppose we should allow setting the column widths and if wrap or truncate

You can do all of the above with BIRT (see CiviReport info on the wiki).

I started to take a second look at BIRT, but at 272 MB to download the Linux version, I think it is out of my league:

You can pick the fields to print by creating a profile, marking it as a search view and then using the search view in the advanced search. Once you get your search return, more actions --> print.

Number of records can be controlled in the advanced search, but that is a poor solution for that use case.

You can specify field order in the profile.

PDF printing has been solved in the past, but not sure how that was done.

I can get the profile to limit fields in the advanced search and limit the fields in the "print" more actions, but I can't seem to add any other custom fields.  Are we supposed to be able to add other fields.

For example:  A common thing for us to do is to list health care activists in certain counties (I have a separate custom field for how we do counties).  Pretty much everyone is in the US and 99 % are in Colorado.  So it would be great to trade Country (United States) for a custom field.

I figure there must be a template or program someplace for the print more actions, but I can't seem to find it.  The URL is:

I thought the print more actions template might be here:
/sites/all/modules/civicrm/templates/CRM/Contact/Page/View 
but can't seem to identify it.

Any idea where to start?

create a provide with the person's name and the county custom field.
Use it as a search view "with counties"
Do an advanced search.
Select the view "with counties" (top left)
Should display a list with the columns specified in the profile
click more actions, print

You have what I'm trying to do and I see what you mean now.
