Joomla 2.5 Support
December 26, 2011, 04:45:48 pm
Is this release going to support Joomla 2.5? It might be good for it to do so. Joomla is coming out with a new Major version in about 2 weeks and 1.7 will no longer be supported shortly after so I am worried that this would prove to be an issue. Is the new alpha version being tested with 2.5 at all?

Can you please try and see if the 4.1 beta1 runs on Joomla 2.5 and report back here.

Would be good to test this out

FYI I've got a test version of 4.1b1 running on J!2.5 and it hasn't thrown any errors...

Hi
Seems to generally work but:
1. If you use the new (J2.5) option to put Captcha into new account registrations, then it appears to clash with the Captcha in profile forms (the Civi option) if as part of that profile form you select "create [website] account". Not checked if that applies to all things similar to profiles (like membership sign up) - just tested on a standalone profile. It's awkward because you really want to use both - the J2.5 stops a lot of spam site registrations, and the Civi one stops abuse of the profile forms - they just don't play nicely together.

2. Currently all pre-existing Personal Campaign Pages and the "Create your own campaign page" are broken. Will look at that more but if anyone else is testing J2.5/C4.1.b3 it's worth a look. This may not be related to J2.5 - didn't check it on J1.8.

Also:

3. Getting an Error message when creating a new event.

Update for 2 above (Personal Campaign Pages): this appears to be related to the Joomla menu item. If you're in the back end and click on it the PCP appears in the normal way, but the menu item links create a broken garbled page.
