Search criteria ignored on search action (joomla)

Hey there,

I'm experiencing some issues with search criteris on advanced search (similar issues have been reported elsewhere, e.g.http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,20949.msg89068.html).

In my case, when using advanced search, some criteria, for example a combination of custom data fields, fail when you try and carry out an action.  The action is carried out on all contacts, not just the contacts you selected.

The problem didn't occur with a simple group search.

In case it is related / helps to pinpoint, this problem is occuring on the same Joomla site as http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,23278.0.html.

We are using Joomla 1.5.25 and 3.4.8.  It happens across browsers and server environments.

aha! just found out this probem is likely due to a non standard .htaccess file, which I attach for reference.
