SOLVED BUG: 4.2 Paypal Standard not triggering CiviCRM payment receipt

Joomla 2.5.6
CiviCRM 4.2

Paypal standard (sandbox) is not triggering a CiviCRM payment receipt/invoice.

Notes
I set myself as a BCC in config and successfully received receipts if I did pay later but received nothing for Paypal Standard.
I have not tested paypal pro. PP Pro test on joomla.demo.civicrm.org does work
Contribution/registration shows as completed in CiviCRM

Not sure I understand.  Who is not sending receipt?  Paypal or CiviCRM?  Are the payments showing "Completed" in CiviCRM back-end?

sorry I should have made that clearer, yes all show completed in CiviCRM (search for gen Eric in demo) and its CiviCRM that is not being triggered to send a receipt

The Sandbox won't send out emails - it's disabled to prevent spammers misusing it

Shouldn't CiviCRM still send a completed registration/contribution receipt using sandbox, it did in 4.1.

sorry thought you meant PayPal.

I added my email address to copy me into the receipt sending, in the contribution and event setup. This allowed me to receive a receipt when using pay later. I do not have this working on my install either hence the test in civi demo and potential bug report.

OK,

So the civicrm demo site will not send out emails of any kind. So it's not a valid test for this sort of thing

Hi Eileen

Please login to the demo and add your email to the CC or BCC in one of the contribution or event page setups. Then activate pay later option. Complete the live self service form via pay later (or using the PP Pro) and you will receive a copy of the receipt.

If you could also test an install of 4.2 with full email support using Paypal standard and post your results on this issue that would great.
