Upgrade to CiviCRM 4.3 on Wordpress: Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated
April 14, 2013, 09:55:27 pm
After having joyfully followed the development of CiviCRM 4.3 from the alpha relesease to the beta releases, I am now experiencing unexpected dismay from some fatal error messages I am getting after upgrading to CiviCRM 4.3.0.

I am getting the fatal errors where dashboard widgets ought to be loading (see screen-shot).  The error messages are referencing the following plugins:
Connections
Cforms
Co-Authors Plus
Cimy User Extra Fields

I have already successfully upgraded two other wordpress sites to CiviCRM 4.3.0 without any issues.  I know one of the other sites is running a least the Connections plugin and the Cforms plugin as well, and yet there are no issues there.  The site I am experiencing problems with is my largest site.  Otherwise, so far, it seems all the other CiviCRM functions are working fine, but have not thoroughl examined this.

I tried disabling the various plugins, but even with some of the plugins disabled, I still get the errors and some of the dashboard widgets fail to load.

Still trying to resolve this issue but no luck yet.  Disabling all plugins except for CiviCRM does not resolve issue.  My research on "Fatal error: Out of memory" errors in wordpress suggests that this arises due to issues with theme or some plugin.  This issue only came up with 4.3.0, and was not present in 4.3 Beta 5.  I have even rolled back to pre 4.3.0 releases, and things work fine then.  So according to my view, the issue lies somewhere within CiviCRM 4.3.0.

I have however not been successful in replicating issue in demo CiviCRM, or in some of my other CiviCRM installations.

Would appreciate any help.

since the error indicates that php has run out of memory you should check how much memory you have allocated.

those error messages look like they are complaining about a few different plugins.

if you disabled them and they remained the same, that makes it look like either they weren't disabled, or it is a caching issue.

did you try disabling everything, and then clearing the cache and refreshing the dashlets?

I have upgraded to 4.3.1 as stated in this thread http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,28437.0.html, but still dashlets are not showing.  Memory allocation is set at 256M.

Have you tried "Refresh Dashboard"? Can you also try running dashlet report independently and make sure it works.
