CiviCRM Profile doesn't link with Drupal built registration format.
May 24, 2007, 05:44:21 pm
When I test register as a member so I can sign on and get access to the website, the profile I fill out is from the Drupal default profile settings I have to add.  What I want instead is when members try to register, they see the CiviCRM profile.  How can I link these two?

Assuming you've already created a CiviCRM Profile with the desired fields, you need to go to Settings for that Profile and check the "Used For" = User Registration box.

Review the doc on Linking Profiles here for more details:

That part is already checked.  It's weird because it's not visible when I press "User Account", but it is in "Edit".  However, when I signed on as another user besides admin, there's nothing in "Edit" that links to CiviCRM.  I installed CiviCRM before already and it just linked automatically.  I don't know what's different now besides I'm using Drupal 5.1 versus Drupal 4.7.

Hello.  Yes, it has been set to version 5.1 from the beginning.  Everything works fine except whenever I press "standalone" in configuring the profile "name and address" information, I get an error.  I think it might be because I installed other modules such as node, nodeprofile, signup, and role signup.  Maybe enabling things that might duplicate what Civicrm does caused the profile part of it to not appear in the "users" tab.  I don't know what's wrong.

Two other suggestions:
* Verify that your Drupal Access Control settings for CiviCRM are permitting the following for Anonymous and Authenticated roles:
- profile listings and forms
- access all custom data (if you are using custom fields in your profile)

* If that isn't the problem - try disabling the other Drupal modules you referenced (esp any that deal w/ exposing Drupal profiles). If that fixes the problem - please enlighten us by reporting back your results.
