so, what does it take to make a job "active"?

I've tracked down my inability to send cron mail to the fact that no jobs have an is_active of true, even though civimail mailings are waiting to be sent.

What could be going wrong here?

Administer > System Settings > Scheduled Jobs
Locate: Send Scheduled Mailings
enable it.
support CiviCRM through 'make it happen' initiatives!
