Edit Username label/helptext on Contribution Form

Hi everyone,
We are designing a contribution page as a membership sign-in/renewal form for our website. The page has a section where the end-user has to create an account (Joomla) by picking a username and password. We would like new members to enter their email address as their username. I have installed a couple of plug-ins to enable the system to accept email addresses as usernames (plugins: Email Authentication, Joomla CiviCRM ACL Plugin).

However, the issue is with the display of the form. Currently, it does not advise the user that they may enter their email address as a username. I'm attaching a screenshot to this request. I would greatly appreciate it if you could advise on how I may do any of the following:
1. Change the field 'Username' to 'Email Address' - either by changing the field label, or the field itself.
2. Edit the help text below the field 'Username' to indicate to the end-user that they may enter their email address as a username.
 (The section containing the fields Username and Password appear when I indicate on the Profile that I would like the form to force the user to create a Joomla account - so I'm not able to control the text of the fields).

Please let me know if I haven't explained the issue clearly.
