Install trouble - (Solved)
June 02, 2007, 10:12:44 pm
I am not able to use the upload and install command on my site, but I have FTP'd all the files to the install directory, and then go to the install page and use the install from directory command.  When I do, it runs and then comes back with this error,

" Upload new component - Error
File /home/southern/public_html/administrator/components/com_installer/civicrm.php does not exist!
[ Continue ... ]"

But I have check through my FTP and through JoomlaXplorer (sorry for spelling) and it shows that the file civicrm.php is indeed in the location where it should be.

Please help

it seems that you are selecting wrong directory

com_installer... it should be com_civicrm i think

When you install by directory, you upload the zip file to 'some directory'  I create a new directory called /upload/.

so you'd see the file at http://www.mysite.com/upload/

You then extract that file, which creates the com_civicrm subfolder.

so you'd see the unpacked component at http://www.mysite.com/upload/com_civicrm/

You then place this folder (in its absolute path form) in the "Install From Directory Field" and execute.

 (Example : /home/user/public_html/upload/com_civicrm)

Well, I tried changing and moving it to a directory, then ran the install command on the com. panel and now I get this error

"Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/southern/public_html/administrator/components/com_installer/installer.class.php on line 309"

But if I go to the components and admin/compts folders, the folder is there?

Any ideas, really would like to be able to use this.

Thanks
