Membership reports in 4.6.0 have a line for members for each contribution

I responded to a problem in Upgrading Civicrm, but this is really a problem for anyone using membership reports.  Any membership report that has a member who has multiple contributions, has a line with the same information for each member. 

For example if John Smith has 1 membership but has 3 contributions, the report says:

John Smith...
John Smith...
John Smith...

It looks like it is pulling member John Smith not based on the 1 member, but based on his 3 contributions.

Can you point to an example on a demo site?

I tried adding a second contribution to http://d45.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/contact/view?reset=1&cid=197

Didn't cause a second row on http://d45.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/report/instance/21?reset=1

So I renewed in case you meant a contribution that was for a membership, still only seeing one row for Delana.

Maybe I am missing the point.

It only started to occur when I upgraded to 4.6.0.  I have been using the same report every month for membership mailing lists.  With 4.6.0, all of a sudden I have multiple member contacts per member based on contribution numbers.  I noticed MulderDSM has the same problem updating to 4.6.0.  I will see if I can duplicate the issue in one of the demo sites, but it very obvious that something happened with the update.

if it is an upgrade issue then might be better to switch this ticket to that thread but will wait on you confirming that you don't see on demo what you see on yours

probably best also if you replicate on yours what you do on demo ie when an contact gets a new contribution on yours, does it add a new line in the report - or only for those that existed pre upgrade

also maybe link to MulderDSMs post if you stumble across it again (if it was a post)

that might help others help you get this sorted (since i can't  )

Thanks, so a couple of things.  The demo is in Drupal and we are running Jooma 3.4.1.  Second, the reports in my CiviCRM have new tabs across the top for configuring the report where as the demo still looks like the old reporting configuration prior to the update.  Wondering if changes were made for Joomla, not made in Drupal, that seems to be apparent based on the different in the configuration headers.    I mentioned the update thread because I responded to MulderDSM's thread there, but this does not seem to be a problem with the update rather a problem with the way the report now works.  Update went very smoothly and worked well.  I will also add that the Joomla demo site has not been updated to 4.6.0.  Is that something I can do?

Sorry I assumed Joomla demo would be up to date - but also if we are talking about how civireports does stuff i would assume it was agnostic

Pete, I just noticed that the demo for Drupel is not updated to 4.6.0 either.  Who do we contact to get the demo's updated?

Can you help me out with the Joomla demo for CiviCRM 4.6.0?  I am not finding where this is in the release.  I realize I could use Drupal demo but want to make sure I test my situation.

Re demo sites:
The WP & Drupal CiviCRM demo sites are built automatically; unfortunately several shortcomings in the Joomla architecture prevent us from doing so with the Joomla demo site. So it must be done manually and frankly the core team is too small and too busy for this to be a priority. I really wish Joomla would fix their cli architecture, and really not sure what to do about this in the meantime.

I just replicated the error on the Drupal .  I renewed "Terry, Brigette" and if you go to the standard Membership Report, Membership Detail report you will see that she is listed twice in the report.

Glad to see I'm not the only one having this issue. Between this and the mailing issue I reported, 4.6.0 has really messed up things for me. I wish I could rollback.

Coleman Watts or Petednz, anything I can do to help with troubleshooting these new glitches.  The duplicates in the membership reports do directly tie to the number of membership dues contributions made for the membership reported on.  In other words, a member may have three years of member dues recorded and two event registration contributions, and the report will only show three lines for that member, all identifical.  So it appears that the logic to generate the lines for memberships was switch to reporting a line per contribution tied to the membership, versus just reporting the membership.
