Length limit on CiviMail content?
November 03, 2008, 11:45:22 am
I just discovered that one of my rather lengthy newsletters had the end cut off by CiviMail. I uploaded an html file for the content. The last section was cut off.

Is there a word limit on content for CiviMail? Or is this some peculiarity with uploading?

Don't know if there was a limit. How long was yours? We haven't sent huge ones from memory but not had that problem - circa 500 words 4000 characters

what version of civicrm? earlier versions stored the content in a text field, the later version use longtext which has significatly more space

check the mysql docs and do an alter table of the body_text and body_html from 'text' to 'longtext'

There shouldn’t be.

Can you please check:

1. What does the report say.
2. What does the database store.
3. If you have a copy as a recipient, what do the headers look like (do they say anything about truncating the contents).
If you found the above helpful, please consider helping us in return – you can even steer CiviCRM’s future and help us extend CiviCRM in ways useful to you.

Thanks, it was version 1.9, so it was the database type issue. For anyone else:
Code: [Select]
ALTER TABLE `civicrm_mailing`
    MODIFY `body_text` longtext NULL DEFAULT NULL,
    MODIFY `body_html` longtext NULL DEFAULT NULL;
was the solution.
