Mysterious multiple copies of event
December 03, 2008, 06:06:28 am
For some reason, I have 396  :o copies of an event I created several weeks ago.  I don't know how this happened - I've just been creating custom fields for a profile I plan to use for the event.  They show up only in the "Manage Events" page.  Some of the copies are in red, and when I click on them, I get this message:

Quote
Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.
The page you requested is currently unavailable.

When I look in the Events table, I see only the event I created, with an ID of 4.  Is there another table where I can quickly delete the phantom events in phpMyAdmin?

Thanks!

Did you by chance click the 'Copy Event' link? Also can you check your "civicrm_event_page" table.

Can you try to replicate this on http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org ?

thanx

I have never hit "copy event" - in fact, I didn't know I could do that until yesterday.  The event_page table shows only the one event.

I should have mentioned in the first post that I'm using Drupal.

EDIT:  I still don't know how all those copies got made, but I was looking in the wrong table to delete them all, so that problem is solved, at least.

Okay, the mysterious copies problem is back.  Now I have 919 copies of my event.  Does anyone have any idea how or why this might be happening?

And no, I don't think this weird little bug can be replicated on the demo site.  I have no idea why it's happening.

Thanks,

Tracey

are you using any other drupal modules which interacts with civicrm? specifically with civievent?

if not, i'm not sure where/how/why that is happening.

I am having the same issue - we are using Drupal with CiviCRM Events. There are no other modules that are integrated with the CiviCRM events. I have confirmed that the multiple copies are not happening due to someone clicking the "Copy this event" link. It does not appear to be related to an administrative user doing anything.

We have hopefully found the cause of this - anonymous AND authenticated user permissions should NOT be set to allow "access CiviCRM" or to "access CiviEvent".
