Sponsor A Child-View Contact /Contribute to Specific Contact / Link with Sponsor

Hello I work for a non-profit organization and we Sponsor Children in Haiti

I would like to find out if I can do the following this with CiviCrm / Joomla

Create profiles of each child which are displayed on the front page of Joomla
There will be a sponsor now button for each child which allows them to sponsor that child

The sponsor should be able to see each child which they have sponsored and they should
be able to sponsor multiple children.

Can someone point me in the right direction to accomplish what I am looking for.

this is not easily possible with the current version of civicontribute for a large number of children. The easiest option currently would be to either create a contribution page / child OR treat the list of children as a custom field and manage it that way.

Either way there will be some amount of custom coding involved to add functionality via hooks. If you are not a developer, consider hiring someone from http://civicrm.org/professional/

Can you explain a little deeper what you mean? I need to accomplish this very same thing... but not just one location like Haiti - multiple orphanages.

In general it does not help us (or you) to post the same question in multiple places

You will need to design and implement a fair amount of custom code to implement this. if u'd like someone to walk you thru this, please consider hiring someone from http://civicrm.org/professional/
