I've noticed two other things about Paypal Pro Recurring:

1. I believe this is on Paypal's end, but it can take several hours for an 'initial transaction' to be processed, which will cause a Pending transaction to exist in CiviCRM for a period of time.  Mysteriously at some point usually 1 to 4 hours later (in my experience), Paypal gets around to processing the transaction, and updates CiviCRM, and the transaction is moved to Complete status.  I'm going to make a note of this on the wiki.

2. If a credit card is declined by Paypal Pro while attempting to process a recurring transaction, CiviCRM hangs and returns a fatal error.  I have posted this as a bug in JIRA http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-6353   Note that one-time contributions through Paypal Pro that are declined are handled appropriately and do not result in a fatal error.
