Civicrm server configuration
April 27, 2010, 01:07:09 am
I want to know standard server configuration for civicrm. If anyone can help me to find best server to host drupal with civicrm would be good for me.

At this time i am using shared server. And this is not working fine with that so i am trying to find best solution for that.

If anyone can help me in this that would be really good for me.

Thanks

I recommend a VPS hosting plan with a CentOS linux installation.  Make sure the host allows outgoing SMTP and doesn't rate limit your emails or have mailing list restrictions like double-opt-in.  I recommend www.spiretech.com
Try CiviTeacher: the online video tutorial CiviCRM learning library.

Hi
We've found CiviCRM will perform fine on a shared hosting plan, assuming the number of users is not too great. Obviously there is a point where a virtual private server (VPS) will be better and it would be a good idea to check that your host will provide assistance in upgrading.

As far as sending out emails from CiviCRM, we've found that on our servers that as long as you batch the emails then you are fine. Best to experiement to find out what works best for you, but you could start with 200 emails/batch, sending every 2 minutes.

regards
