Yeah, problem is I just looked & I think we'd be lucky if 25 % of the existing APIs have update functions so if we want to practice newbie love we need to add the rest - but I'm counting on you & X to come up with a way to do that that is so elegant it's effortless :-)

I think between the wiki and what we wrote in the book we are mostly clear. I'd suggest that we start the week-end by writing on "dumb" api that is missing (contact_type). This one is going to be way less complicated than the pledge, and we can use it as gold standard example, as you don't have a lot of extra stuff, that takes 200 lines and that's dumb calls of the BAO (well, at least that's the plan ;)
