Thanks to sponsorship commitments from IMBA and Powered by Action we've launched an Make-it-Happend campaign for recurring contributions and autorenew memberships via Google Checkout - and we're 70% funded!

I'll make the contribution today, but before we do, one last question: will the recurring contributions allow users the option to make weekly, monthly, or yearly contributions, or will they be limited in their choices?

I actually haven't made my contribution yet :), but will be happy to fund the rest. Just want to make sure users will have the different options per my previous post.

hey treedawgus:

thats awesome that u can fund the rest. check:

http://civicrm.org/civicrm/contribute/transact&reset=1&id=19

to see how recurring options work (u'll need to select the recurring radio button before u can choose the options)

We'll send an invoice to you and IMBA for the respective amount. Thanx for stepping up and the getting this MIH to be the first to hit its goal for 4.1

thanx

lobo

I've made the donation to complete the funding of the Google Checkouts - Recurring Payments MIH initiative. What timeline are we looking at for the build?

Well done. Could civicrm/social source uses it as well for mih or it won't qualify?

(actually, no matter what, that's going to be cheaper than paypal, isn't it?)

The reason I'm asking is that at least in europe, Paypal is a fu*** pain as soon as you have a different address for your bank/organisation and the location of your office (long story short: it doesn't work)

Another update: Google ended its free credit card processing for non-profits program earlier this year.

According to http://civicrm.org/mih41#google this has been completed for a while. Google Checkout however doesn't support user-defined recurring intervals.

Google does seem to support user based intervals: https://developers.google.com/checkout/developer/Google_Checkout_Beta_Subscriptions#Merchant_Handled_Subscriptions

Looks like there's a limited set of recurring intervals allowed:
Quote
The period attribute specifies how frequently you will charge the customer for the subscription. Valid values for this attribute are DAILY, WEEKLY, SEMI_MONTHLY, MONTHLY, EVERY_TWO_MONTHS, QUARTERLY, and YEARLY.

... so our current model of allowing user to enter 'N' months would need to be modified to limit things to 1, 2, or 3 months. Which is not currently on the road map.
