RE: RED LINE through my Manage PCP page???
August 05, 2011, 09:28:47 pm
I spoke too soon. I was able to go through the motions of creating the page, but when I go to Personal Campaign Pages, there is a red line drawn through my entry and I can't review or see the page.  What's did I do wrong now?

If you're looking at this page: CiviCRM > Contributions > Personal Campaign Pages, and your new PCP is listed with red text - then you probably have "Approval Required" in the associated online contribution page (Personal Campaign Page tab). There should be an Approve action on the right side.

You can turn off this step and have newly created PCP's be "live" immediately if you prefer.

Dave, I need to clean up the formatting of pages so I don't want them to go live.  I thought that was the point of approving them after you view or edit them.  Now I'm having to approve and then edit.  Is this just a problem with my system, or in this version?

Penny - Thx for pushing on this. Turns out there were several related bugs in this flow for Joomla 1.6 (1.7). I think we've got them all squashed now:

1. Create PCP menu item works: http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-8629

2. Registering user who is creating a PCP should get both an email about their user registration w/ activation link (from Joomla) and an email about their PCP (from Civi): http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-8634

(this is related to part of your issue CRM-8637 which I've closed as a duplicate). The "account has either been blocked or you have not activated it" message is almost certainly due to the fact that your test user never activated their new account (because the J! email didn't get sent).

3. You (admin / backoffice staff) should be able to both View and Edit "waiting approval" PCPs before approving them: http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-8641

These changes will be part of the next release (CiviCRM 4.0.6) - but you can potentially patch your installation by grabbing diffs from the "Fisheye" tab on each issue (and 2 of them also have patches attached directly).

Hmm - looks like this particular front-end menu type is not working properly on Joomla 1.6 / 1.7. Just tried it on our public demo and I get this error:

Just for completeness - there was a bug which is now fixed and will presumably go into 4.0.6 or whatever the next release is.
