Sorry meant to say I can edit the event FIELD when there are participants, IE I can edit the participant's record and change the event it is linked to (this is the field you can;t edit for some reason).

Sorry I'm getting muddled on the regression bug thing that was another issue - apologies.

The Event is "locked" (read-only) on Register Participant form IF a contribution record has been created for that participant (i.e. if they have 'paid'). If not, you can change it.

The bug under discussion here is that that custom data set is NOT loaded to the Participant form during Edit operation IF the custom data set is Used For participants in a specific event. I've posted a bug report for this:

http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-8574.

Dave S - if you are able to make progress working on a fix for this, that will help ensure it gets included in the next release.

I am not aware of any workaround for this bug :-(

Thought it would be locked when a certain record was added - we were using pay leter so we didn't have the payment record present locking the field.

I'll chalk it up to look at.

Thanks again Dave G.

The fix applied to 3.4.5 has fixed the issue - fantastic.

Thanks all,

Dave
