I'm also very interested in this, but probably need a Drupal 7 version, which (I'm assuming) would come after the v6 is more stable.

Will this allow the use of Civimail Tokens in MailChimp?

As mentioned above, the planned features are listed at http://drupal.org/sandbox/fen/1233314

I have continued to be pulled off to other projects, but am still hoping to get back to this one soon.  Of course, if anyone else would like to try their hand at updating the code in the meantime, please feel free! ;)

Hi Fen,

It is almost complete. As per the suggestions provided to us in another post we have decided to make it a cron job.

We are testing it on Joomla at the moment but I don't see why it won't work with Drupal.

Hi Polestar,

What is the status of your Mailchimp module for CiviCRM/Joomla and where might I download it from?

Cheers!
HeronGrace

I'm very keen to try this out. Is there a version available for people to try out?

@polestar said he has a version running.  The completion of my version is still planned, but keeps getting pushed back.  Fortunately, the client wants it (after they get everything else in shape first) so I'm still looking forward to getting this done.

Wish I had a better answer for you.

As the saying goes: you snooze, you lose. My Mailchimp/CiviCRM integration project has been "on hold" for months now, though I've been continuously looking forward to resuming it.  Today a colleague point me to this: Mailchimp CiviCRM Sync http://www.targetintegration.com/downloads/mailchimp-civicrm-sync.html and this: MailChimp Integrates with Nonprofit Software App CiviCRM http://blog.mailchimp.com/mailchimp-integrates-with-nonprofit-software-app-civicrm/.  (I had applied to the Mailchimp Integration Fund but never received a reply.)

In any case, though announced, the package doesn't appear on the Mailchimp CRM integrations page at http://connect.mailchimp.com/category/crm and to download it from the (author) Target Integration site it appears you need to create an account first (not very GPL feeling).

Anyway, I created an account and grabbed a copy of the code which (as allowed under the GPL) I have attached (change the .txt extension to .zip and unzip).  From the "Features and Benefits" I'm not sure if it allows more than one  Group-to-Mailchimp mapping (a requirement for my needs) but it may (I have not yet looked at the code).

I'll post any findings I come across here and would like to hear from any of you that may (or may not) get this package to work.

@fen, have you had a chance to look at the MailChimp Integration Fund sponsored module. From the description, it seems like it does handle multiple groups.

I've got less than a week to decide between CiviMail and an integration with MailChimp (a my client will most likely follow my recommendation).

I'd be very interested in hearing you thoughts.

Any word on the type of integration for WP/CiviCRM/Mailchimp configurations? How difficult would it be to tweak the Joomla version to work with WP?

I have not yet had the time to experiment with the MailChimp Integration Fund sponsored module - has anyone else here?

Nice concept except for lack of smartgroup integration.

I can confirm that the modules do not work and actually can corrupt your system so do not try on a production environment.  I'm trying to get some momentum to support this again ...

You've had problems with the Target Integration module?  Sorry to hear that, but it might help others if you could be a bit more specific as to have you were using it and what problems you experienced.

On another note, I'm looking at the Drupal Mailchimp Integration module <http://drupal.org/project/mailchimp> which appears to be actively maintained, along with Mandrill <http://drupal.org/project/mandrill> for transactional mail services. While this solution lacks smart groups support, too, it appears to be coming along nicely and is being developed in an open manner.  Anyone have experience with these?

Sorry, - should have made some references.  I've made some noise in various forums trying to drum up support:
http://www.targetintegration.com/CiviCRM-MailChimp-Sync/433-MailChimp-Sync-won-t-run/Page-3.html?Itemid=0#485
http://drupal.org/node/1890840

The forum is loaded with tidbits: http://www.targetintegration.com/CiviCRM-MailChimp-Sync/?Itemid=0

NB: Target Integration has indicated that they don't expect to have funding to support the module with fixes or a new release: http://www.targetintegration.com/CiviCRM-MailChimp-Sync/495-New-version.html?Itemid=0#506

Hi - Just in case anyone is reading this post, we've released a BETA version of a new extension that carries out CiviCRM Mailchimp integration.

https://civicrm.org/extensions/mailchimp-civicrm-integration

Its BETA but we're hoping ready for production once we've got some community testing done.

Please feed any issues to the GIT repo.

Thanks
