White screen while trying to upgrade?reset=1
October 30, 2011, 01:42:52 pm
I get a white screen when I try to enter that page. Why? :s

I also get this in my Modules page.
Code: [Select]

What versions of Drupal and CiviCRM do you have? When you get the WSOD, there should be an error stored in the Apache error logs--can you post that error?

I'm trying to upgrade a 3.4.5 civiCRM to 3.4.6 and experiencing the same issue.

Edit: After some thought I guess it's because 3.4.5 to 3.4.6 aren't considered an upgrade? I'm looking around for documentation on the matter but can't find any yet.

@awasson here is the upgrade doc for 3.4 -- http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/Upgrade+Drupal+Sites+to+3.4

that top yellow box states that you should still do the upgrade procedure for prior versions of 3.4.

can you post your apache error log message, as hershel states any WSOD should throw an error into the apache error log.

Hi emilyf,

Thanks for the reply... I just tried it again and low and behold, I didn't get a WSOD and I did get the upgrade screen and the process was successful. Prior to this I probably tried it about a dozen times. The only thing I can think of that would make a difference was clearing the cache however I did try that several times during the WSOD periods so I don't know why it would all of a sudden work.

I just checked the server error log via the hosting company and there were zero apache errors which I find difficult to believe. I would have thought there would be something. My Drupal reporting error log showed the following PHP Error:

call_user_func_array() [<a href='function.call-user-func-array'>function.call-user-func-array</a>]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, 'civicrm_invoke' was given in /server-path/includes/menu.inc on line 349.

This was the error that happened every time up until just now when I tried the upgrade script at: http://example.com/civicrm/upgrade?reset=1
