Figured out what the "Blank Item in Search Results Action Dropdown" was.  It was passing the search results off to this URL (followed by search result specific hash key):

http://merlin.orlrt.org/drupal/index.php?q=civicrm/contact/search/basic&_qf_Print_display=true&qfKey= (search result specific hash key)

It looks like the Print Report button in the results of running a Report.  It's a fine feature and much better than permitting exporting of contacts, but not one that is offered in the search result drop down of actions an administrator sees for the same search result.  Also, it still doesn't display the words to describe it.

Does this provide any additional clues as to how to fix it?
