please avoid posting the similar question in multiple places. U've asked the same question in 6 different forum topics :(

Might want to check:

http://book.civicrm.org/user/

specifically: http://book.civicrm.org/user/the-user-interface/profiles

You can find the ability to create a user account in the advanced settings section on the profile admin screen.

Logging into the site is a function of WordPress

From what I've read in the docs is that the wordpress version does not support creating usernames and passwords when a person registers with civicrm. If a connection with wordpress users and crm members are not available I don't see how someone could ever interact with the crm without reimputting all their details every time.  I've also not seen any example of profile page for logged in users that shows their membership details. I honestly don't know if user profiles even exist so this is why I'm asking if this feature does exist and is it supported by the wordpress version.  It would be nice if members could log in and pay their pledges, change their memberships, edit contact details,  etc.

This was added in a beta version of 4.1. Please check:

http://wordpress.demo.civicrm.org/wp-admin/admin.php?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/admin/uf/group/update&action=update&id=1&context=group

(u'll need to login as the admin user: demo / demo)

and click on the advanced settings tab. This is documented in the book for drupal, but in recent versions this functionality also exists for joomla and wp

The goal is for the average joe who registers for one of my events to be able to log himself into his profile to make changez to his account. How does the link you provided to the profile manager in the admin relate to this functionality?  I need a front end login for all users . Thanks
