Fixed the error :-)   Automatic discounts are working, but haven't gotten discount codes to work yet.

Dont think there is a working demo of this module as yet.

If you get more specific about whats not working someone might be able to help

Just a note - I had to remove the word 'static' from before function getTableName in Item.php in the discount module - on 4.1.2 .

Dear Lobo,

Is it possible to highlight the compatibility of CMS versions and Cividiscount module version.

What i mean is on which combinations of CMS the Cividiscount module is working  perfectly?

Cividiscount module version ?
CMS Joomla version ?
Drupal version ?

Really confused... Your help is very much appreciated.

We currently are using it on a civicrm 4.1 and D7 combination. I know a couple of sites are using it on D6

I might have heard someone using it with joomla but not sure

Eileen installed CiviDiscount for us to run a renewal discount.

It works but I have had to work around some of its limitations:

- Dollar discounts not working: Regardless if you select a dollar amount discount, it displays as a percentage discount.

- I can't get automatic discounts to work

- It should have an "Apply" button next to the discount code field on the contribution page. I've placed some help text on the contribution page to work around it: "Enter discount code ABCDE in the box above to receive a 7% renewal discount (displayed after you complete this page)"

- The automatic discount would be better if it could be confined to "renew" memberships only

- It needs user documentation

Re: Testing Cividiscount module

We basically ported the module to the extension so that:

1. It would work for Drupal 7 (and across other CMS'es as a sample)

2. It would do the discounting needs of CiviCon (which basically was mostly 100% discounts for sponsors!)

We tested only the above path. Would be great if folks who are interested in other scenarios submit patches / pull requests and get the module to the same level as the D6 version which DT built

Related to this, merlise is trying to see if see can pull together an MIH to get support for this

Lobo,

I have installed Cividiscount as extension on Civicrm 4.1 with Drupal 7.0.
it installed ok, but after install there is no menu for the Cividiscount

In CRM/Utils/Hook/Drupal6.php

I have Replaced :
Code: return empty( $result ) ? true : $result;
with
Code: return $this->commonInvoke( $numParams,
                                   $arg1, $arg2, $arg3, $arg4, $arg5,
                                   $fnSuffix, 'drupal6' );

I tried this query : civicrm/cividiscount/discount/list&reset=1

but no menu :( I can not use the extension as i can see it...

How to activate the menu?

most troubling part is when i click on any menu link:

Iam getting this error :

Fatal error: Cannot make non static method CRM_Core_DAO::getTableName() static in class CDM_DAO_Item in C:\wamp\www\civicrm\dlobo-org.civicrm.module.cividiscount-5f105ae\CDM\DAO\Item.php on line 367

Help please..........

Pretty sure there is no menu created by this module. As mentioned previous this was a quick port for our needs and we've shared what we did with the community

Check eileen's post earlier in this thread on what she needed to do to get it to work on D6. I'm not sure why that was needed, but it seemed to work for her

Dear Lobo,

I read somewhere that this  Cividiscount module will be made compatible for civicrm 4.2 version. Is that correct ?

When is this 4.2 version is scheduled to release ?

After some many attempts I feel that I should try only when it is compatible and stable version is releases.Can you please advice me the when is the release dates for both Cividiscount module and 4.2 version of civicrm?

Thank you!

sorry u've been having issues with the module. Would help if you can investigate and figure out what the problem is

I just tried installing the 4.2 version of cividiscount on joomla 2.5.2 and it worked quite nicely. Note that cividiscount will continue to be on github and we hope to involve folks from the community to help maintain and bug fix it. This is not a core module that will be released with 4.2

We are trying to get a 4.2 alpha out by end of this month / early next month

I have installed this module and tested it out with Drupal 7/CiviCRM 4.1.3. The module is working correctly but wondering what modification will be required to add the discount field to the workflow while registering the participants from the backend. Not sure where to start form. Help will be appreciated

We'll be announcing the CiviDiscount improvements as a Make It Happen later today or so. In the meantime, you can help get the ball rolling by making a contribution here:

http://civicrm.org/civicrm/contribute/transact?reset=1&id=27

Any amount large or small helps us get towards our goal.

We hope to have a better functioning discount module in the next 2-3 weeks if we make good progress with the MIH. A list of things to be addressed and fixed can be found on github here:

https://github.com/dlobo/org.civicrm.module.cividiscount/blob/master/README
