Tell me xeonFX, your website is hosted on a one&one server isn't it ? If I'm right, then the problem comes from the server configuration : the CPU usage purcentage is limited. This is why you have an error 500. What I did is to call one&one support, pray to get a clever technician, explain your problem and ask them to install civicrm giving them the admin password ...

About the error log, thez don't log errors because this sort of log is too bulky.

Good luck !

You might need to change webserver logging verbosity - if you're getting internal error and error log is empty, it might mean that that error logging is suppressed.

Thx,
m

I get the same error message error 500 Error message: "Premature end of script headers: index2.php".
I have spent 40 hours trying to install civicrm and have change the settings in the php.ini file, used php5 and php4. I just can't resolve the issue. I even tried using some of the earlier versions. :'(
I noticed in one of the forums this error first started showing up in v1.3, but 1.2 was OK. I could not find a copy of V1.2. As this would possibley be OK as I only want to sync contacts do a few other small tasks to manage the 100+ members of my club.

I have just turned on the logging to see what they say and will post this soon. Any help now would be grand
Mike

Hye !

I tryed to install civicrm component using both solutions :
- upload of the package
- unzip, upload to /joomla/components/com_civicrm directory and install from the directory

Each time, I have the error message "Error 500 - Internal server error".

You'll find the software configuration in my signature. For the hardware, I use a 1&1 business linux webhosting.

Until now, I never met any problem installing components. And I don't find an answer in the following page : http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Install+CiviCRM+for+Joomla+or+Mambo

Does someone has an idea of where the problem comes from ?

Thanks,

FX

The resolution is contained ion the following link

Move all the admin files manually and change the xml file. Worked perfectly.

Will this work for an installation of CiviCRM 1.9 on Joomla 1.0.13?

Thanks, I was afraid of that. I'm also getting the error:

Error 500 - Internal server error

An internal server error has occured!
Please try again later.

I'm hosting with 1&1, and just got off the phone with their technical support.  They've asked me to email them the software requirements, so hopefully this issue will be resolved soon!

In the meantime, in case they don't come through, anyone know a more recent hack that will solve this problem? Thanks!
