Migration to new server
June 13, 2012, 09:41:25 pm
Hi,

Our designer has copied our installation of drupal and civicrm to a new server. Civicrm was returning error messages on on the /user/login page. I have managed to fix these errors by amending the civicrm.settings.php file and modifying the domain record in civicrm_domain. However, when the user logs in, it forwards them to a page, but the page does not display and the login button is displayed, not logout.

Domain has changed from

The following relate:
- On the domain record i have changed the file paths successfully (site1 to site2), but domain paths are also listed as i cannot change them (sitename1 to sitename2). When i try and modify these paths, i get the following error when i access the page. If i revert them back to the original urls and i dont get an error; could this be the reason for the pages not loading? Why wont it accept the new domain name? :

Config_Backend field  (Does not return any error messages, but civicrm pages do not load):

Our designer did the migration, so i don't know. I know that the dump of the database did include the civicrm_domain table although the recommendation was to not include it.

If at all possible, i would prefer to troubleshoot the problem, rather than reinstall, as the rest of the site is working fine.

 I would still recommend working through that document as it may well identify the tripwires that you have hit.

Yes, i have already done that. That was why i modified the civicrm_domains table in the first place.

I think this is probably the source of my problem, but i don't know how to rectify it without reinstalling.

Your suggestions?

Sorry, i am not trying to be unhelpful - I just hoped pointing you in that direction might help something come clear. I can't advise on what might need to be done to rectify and my team have left for the day. Sure someone else will come along and help.

Run

Code: [Select]
UPDATE `civicrm_domain` SET `config_backend`=NULL ;
and manually review all settings in civicrm.settings.php to make sure the directories and URL are correct.
