Menu items error "CiviCRM-001" after moving to Joomla 2.5 / CiviCRM 4.1.5
August 16, 2012, 04:45:00 am
Hello,

I've just upgraded CiviCRM from 3.4.8 to 4.1.5 (and Joomla 1.5 to 2.5) and everything works great in the backend/admin area.

However any CiviCRM menu item I create results in a "CiviCRM-001" error page. I have upgraded the db, cleared the template cache. I've also followed the guide here:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/Moving+an+Existing+Installation+to+a+New+Server+or+Location

but can't find any other solutions in the forum to resolve this.  :-[

I would greatly appreciate any other avenues of investigation from fellow members.

Thanks!

Hello,

I've managed to get a more in depth error message:

Code: [Select]
Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "CRMhttp://www.hcfa.org.uk/commonhttp://www.hcfa.org.uk/fatal.tpl" in /var/www/vhosts/hcfa.org.uk/httpdocs/joomla25/administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/packages/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1093
Would appreciate any help  :)

Hi Donald,

Yes the directories and URLs all appear to be correct (i.e. point to valid locations).

Thanks

I seemed to have found out the solution to this problem. Enabling the debugging option in Joomla showed some extra error messages containing permissions errors. I since found this thread on user access/permission:

http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php?topic=5335.0

I also saw another thread refer to issues with the civicrm_domain table so I copy the settings from the "config_backend" column off a fresh CiviCRM install (I had been using the table from the old J1.5 site). By doing this and after enabling public permissions for the CiviCRM component (in this case CiviEvents) the page now loads.

I hope this helps out others.
