I tried getting some help several times in irc, but it seems pretty dead over there the last few days. I started getting a response, but then nothing.

Lobo or others,

We've just got around to upgrading our D6 test server to 4.2.6 and installed the cividiscount extension.

I've created some discount codes 1) code for an event and 2) automatic membership discount using a priceset
While the space to enter the discount code appears on the event page, I am not seeing the discount apply.  Can anyone confirm whether this is D6 issue?  or am I missing something??? in the setup.   Same thing happens with the automatic membership discount.

One suggestion - the scroll box for selecting among pricesets is not wide enough to see the complete name - so if the priceset name is really long one cannot see which line item the  discount is being applied to.  Adding a horizontal scroll-bar would help!

Is the MIH initiative still going on - I'm probably now at a point that I can convince my org to support, if there is D6 support.

best,
Merlise

- Are you trying online or offline event registration?
- If online make sure that logged in user has same membership of type as membership type configured in automatic discount is configured.

- Yes, we are planning to fix it soon

Yes, MIH is still in progress and would be great if your organization can help. CiviDiscount is CMS agnostic, so it will work on all the CMS's supported by CiviCRM.

This was online and the user did have the same membership type as the membership type configured in the automatic discount.   the discount was for a membership in a priceset, but it could be that I "missed" and got the wrong line item.  (I'll double check)

As a suggestion, it would help to be able to select a priceset and then select line items to make it easier to apply (otherwise we have a very long list of items)

tested the latest version of the discount module under D6:

For an automatic membership discount on a membership page I had to
specify which membership types would receive the discount (that's fine),  the membership line item in the priceset AND the membership type for the discount to apply to.  The latter two seem redundant to me, but if I dropped either one the discount did not apply.

I.e.  a student member should get a free section membership.

because the actual price in the membership type does not have to agree with the membership price set, I am guessing that we need to keep the line item (e.g. for percent discounts)

more testing:

I have created another  discount code for memberships, and expected to see the discount code box on the membership page that used the priceset, but it does not show up.  should it?

We would like to see that as an option (similar to what is on the event page) as it would provide a way for "organizational members" to provide a limited number of free or discounted memberships to affiliated members without setting up relationships

What happens if someone has a discount code and should receive an automatic discount based on their membership status?  would both apply or just one?

that extension is still under fairly active development / QA, so might want to wait till there is a stable release

the reload action will be released as part of 4.2.7 (in early dec)

ensure u dont have an already customized template for memberships. The discount code box should appear on both online / offline and renewal forms

Hi Lobo,

the comments were meant to be for QA, but if there is an alternative place to post let me know :-)

We're not using any special templates for the membership page

cheers,
Merlise

The discount code box does appear on the offline renewal form, but not the online renewal form

I assigned a code to an organization - but when I go to the organizations contact page, I am unable to see the code under the code assigned tab (is this still under the To be added list on github?)

In principle, when a code is assigned, will the organization be notified by email?  (it would be nice to have a check box to send a code by email to the contact like as in receipts.

If a code is assigned to an organization, can only the organization redeem the code or can they share it (depending on the number of times it may be used?)

best,
Merlise

Might want to wait till there is an alpha release before doing a lot of QA. Fair bit of code changes still being made

Codes can be redeemed by anyone as long as they are valid. I dont think we've done a whole lot with the org / code tracking from the original version

For the current MIH, we are at a feature freeze and want to get the MIH goal met and release a stable release in the next 3-5 weeks

Hi guys,

I just upgraded to 4.2.6 and installed Cividiscount 1.2 from github.

I've set up a discount code as I want to allow certain people to obtain a 100% discount on a certain event.

However when I enter the discount code and press apply (in both the online registration form or the "Register Participant" page) it fails with:

Sorry but we are not able to provide this at the moment.
And then on Register participant: HTML_QuickForm_Controller: Unhandled action "reload" in page "Participant"
And on Online registration: HTML_QuickForm_Controller: Unhandled action "reload" in page "Register"

Does any of you have a suggestion how I can fix this?

Thanks.

That fix is part of 4.2.7. If keen, u can install from 4.2.7 and give it a shot

4.2.7 will be released sometime in early dec

in the meantime, consider helping make the MIH meet its goal:

Thanks lobo.

I'll try that - if I could only find a place to download 4.2.7. The SVN version is 4.3 and all I can find on 4.2.7 is the issue tracker http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM/fixforversion/11690.

Please point me in the right direction.

I'll see what I/my client can do about financial help. Thanks.
