FWIW I added the following issues

to display currency symbol and to accept values when entered with currency symbol

Agreed -  This is very important and I would like to think that it should be easy to strip non-numeric symbols (except for "." and "," perhaps)  from the other amount area to parse to the payment processor.

First priority would be the forward facing pages, but the admin area where you set goal amounts and other items that allow a set dollar amount would also be great.
