CiviCRM and National Do Not Contact Registry
July 12, 2013, 12:20:55 pm
Greetings,

CiviCRM is great, I am using it for a lot of my clients and one thing that came up in discussion is the need for a 2-time a year ability to check the Do Not Contact Registry. Is there an extension or a project in the works to make this possible?

I am fairly certain no one has made such yet, at least not in public. Would be a great project if you're up to building this. :)

What am I missing - is this some external integration - or just something that should be (is?) available through advanced search?

Paul - any progress on this? I also have a customer that might be interested and am willing to contribute development time towards such a module.

I just took a look at this, does anyone know how the data is received from the FTC?  I didn't see any mention of an API to query their database, and it looks like telemarketers have to pay a rather hefty fee to have access to the data.  I'm just trying to run through the possibilities for an extension because I agree this would be useful to have.
